Bug has a removable rear Valance - so took it back to bare metal for painting - found a wee hole that we'll weld up.

Now in temp primer before welding.

Major surgery on the Cab today.
A pillar replacement on the passenger side.
Measure 5 times then chop it out.

Using the amazing Hookys pillar repairs and the A pillar hookys door alignment tool - recommended by Ed.

Got the 950mm gap at top and bottom of A to B posts, refitted the door to test and it shuts perfect

Cut out and sat in place

Awesome alignment tool in use

Spot welded in place

Door aligns well

Seam welded

Temp primed

Quarter panel bottom cut out - glad we did as it was rotten!!

Offered up for door alignment

Spot welded in place

Seam welded

Alignment still ok

Repair Panel isn't the best quality but some finishing work will fix it - and at least it's now solid again.

My Dad Mike - who is a time served air cooled VW Panel Beater getting his hands dirty on the Cab build.

Using his dolly that he's had since 14 years of age - he's now 84!!

I'm very proud of him
