Ooooo look at me posting a thread in the tech advice!

Well Ewan has given me one job to do, changing the lenses and putting new seals on the lights on his lovely 69 camper.  Should be a nice easy job I hear you say, but im failing completely.

Got the front indicator lights back on, the lenses dont fit that great with the seals but they are on.  But for the life of me I cant get the back red lights to work, I finally managed to get the new seals on but the new lenses are too big.

Is there something Im doing wrong or do i have the wrong lenses? Im hoping ewan will be kind and put some of the pics up for me cos it all looks a bit to complicated for me.

Hope you can help me.

I think it is probably a badly made after market parts thing by the look of it.

The front indicators didn't fit so we whittled them down and they fit OK ish. With the back lights there really is a is a major difference... I'll bring them along to the club night.

I had the same problem.  The US spec chrome surround will not fit over a european spec lense.  I spent ages with a hacksaw cutting the lenses down, and I am still quite pleased with the results.  Just watch that you dont break the lense, it feels like cheap plastic that will shatter when you are cutting it.

I took delivery of lights from Status VW of their lights and they look like they are going to fit perfectly. The size difference is amazing.
