Unfortunately my 1972 beetle will not fit in my garage as predicted and is now going to have to spend it's life on my drive.

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy an outside cover (hopefully cheaply Big smile)?

Cheap ones are a false economy. I had a £30 cover on my fasty last year and it was wet through in the first rain shower and made a mess of my new paint (had to be cut and polished again).

I have a 3 layer gore tex cover on my van which has never let water through or damaged any paint but to be honest, any damage will occur where the cover rests on the vehicle and on a van its on the top where you wont see it.

The gore tex cover for the van came from here;

I  have picked one of these:

I have to say it is just about a perfect fit!! Very impressed.

I have placed a fleece linen bed covering over it too, hopefully should be fine. I will need to wait and see.

Let me know how it goes. The one I bought claimed to be water proof but was far from it. I did the same thing and had 2 fleece covers and they ended up soaked.

Well the fit on this is superb (medium size cover) however, definetly not water-proof. I am going to keep it though as the fit is so tight. Ideally another strap in the middle would be ideal. I have used 3 plastic clothes pegs to keep the cover over the sideboards and it hasn't blown away or moved out of position. I guess the worst of the weather is still to come so I have kept the receipt in a safe place, lol.
