Oval window section has been grafted in, but in the long run will return to larger rear window and ragtop.

Nice project and welcome to the forum.

Take it the oval window is staying then?

When you convert the type 3 engine to upright fan I could be interested in doing a deal on the type 3 bits.

Dave.

Bug belonged to a mate in airdrie, not sure of it's origin.
It has excellent rain gutters and doors shut as they are supposed to, so good signs of a decent shell straight away.
Dave, you probably remember me, Stevie W's mate that used to have the grey 62 bug. Not that bothered bout fitting the type 3, would do a deal with u for a smaller type 1 engine and bits that i need if u have them, i need a windscreen and set of window rubbers.
Keeping car as an oval until i find a 62 rear window doner section to graft in and a correct year rag top.

Not the perfect respray, but only to get the bug on the road and useable till i find the donor window frame and ragtop to graft in.
With a good flattening and polish it will look half decent.

The rear window looks like a decent job! Why do you want rid of it?
Looks like a good project!

Not really a fan of ovals, never will be an oval due to the dash and semafores, and tbh i prefer the 62 rear window and correct decklid.
Plus always fancied a ragtop.

Rear window section is genuine oval metal grafted in, really good job, whoever converted it.

Got the seats, Gte recaros (cheers Davie). Dave C is sorting the wheels for me - wide 5 steels which i'm gonna get banded and powdercoated.
Desperate for a windscreen for 1962 bug if anyone can help.
Also window rubbers, need: 1962 windscreen rubber, 1962 quarter window rubbers, and an oval rear window rubber.
Tried up and down the country for windscreen (Bugjam and Action incl.), so any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers Voilksfolks.
